Depends on what kind of budget we’re working with. I mean, 5 years is big. Go on a trip. Even a small one. Even if it’s just to a big city in your area. Find touristy things to do. Check out Roadtrippers.com and see if there’s any cool places of interest or parks or anything nearby.

Do a memorable experience!! Do something you won’t ever forget, and will talk about for years. Everyone commenting had great ideas, so I won’t repeat them but I agree with what people have been suggesting! Also, if you do something that is super unusual for you, it’ll be even better. For example, to make graduation special, a few friends and I got up at the buttcrack of dawn to go watch the sunrise at the beach. We didn’t see it cause it was overcast, but I did go swimming in the freezing water and just experienced the freezing water and the excitement for the ceremony and being with awesome people. I absolutely hate waking up early, but I’ll always cherish the memory. SO, moral of my random drawn out story- do something different!💗 congratulations to you guys also!

Overnighter!
Find a nice 4 or 5 star hotel on priceline for cheap.  Book a reservation at a restaurant.   It doesn't have to be fancy, just making the reservation shows thought and effort.  Then spend the night together.
It doesnt have to be far.  We have done it within our town,  and we have done it 4 hours away.  Both were great. 
Doubly good if there are kids you drop off with a friend while you are gone.

Every valentines me and my husband would go out to dinner at a restaurant and see a film. Last year we were so tired and run down we went a got a kfc to go and munched our on the sofa to a film. Best date ever.
