What do you wish you had known before making your baby registry?

For the places that give you checklists of all the things you need (like buybuy baby does for example) follow it. You literally will need the majority of the stuff they recommend! Lol

That a good portion of your gifts won’t even come from it!  We had a pretty wide selection of items across target and amazon but I’d say atleast 75% of our gifts weren’t from it. People just buy what they want, especially when you already know the gender. We ended up with TONS of clothes for our daughter and unfortunately most were 0-3 months and lots she didn’t even wear. I don’t know if it would’ve been different if we had kept it more limited or not. Either way it’s a blessing having things handed to you.

Once you complete your registry, have a couple experienced moms review it before sending it to everyone else. (By experienced though I mean still fairly recent moms who know current products, not people who had kids 20 years ago)

That it is freaking hard and annoying. Ha. Also, I heavily research everything I put on my registry, so that may be why. I am super concerned with getting the safest products, and that research takes a lot of time. 
Also, that Amazon registry is annoying. In order to get the box of free stuff, you have to go through a huge checklist and add things you don’t want or need. You can go through and remove them, but it is annoying. I gave up and decided the box was not worth it. 😂

Creating my registry became my hobby while pregnant. I built it slowly, researching everything I put on it. I looked at tons of different checklists and lists, on Pinterest, mommy blogs, registry sites, etc. 
Not everything from my registry was purchased, but that wasn’t a big deal. In addition to being a registry it was also a checklist of sorts for me of what I needed to buy. It made it easy after my shower to know exactly what I still needed to buy. I ended up buying nearly everything still left on my registry. I do wish that I had waited a little longer to buy up my registry, because a bunch of people wanted to buy gifts after baby was born and I had already bought everything.

I had a list from Pinterest and we pretty much stuck to it. I also only put one pack of onesies and pants in each size instead of the recommended amounts because people will buy whatever clothes they find cute (which is totally fine by me). I put “most wanted” on the car seats and bassinet.
