Zoloft and ttc??

My hubby and I aren't really trying, but, we're not preventing either. I just got diagnosed with anxiety, depression, ptsd, and pmdd so they're trying me on  Zoloft. When my doctor was talking to me she asked me about birth control and I told her I'm on nothing and that I don't want to be put on it for fertility issues. Thought nothing of it. Then when I got home it says on the bottle that you can't use it during pregnancy because of withdrawal symptoms in newborns. So I started freaking out because none of this was mentioned and hubby and I aren't preventing against a pregnancy. I'm supposed to take it for 2 weeks and then I go back to see if my dosage needs to be upped. Anyone have any experience on antidepressants and ttc?

Thanks ladies! I'm gonna call my doctor this morning and see what she thinks about it. She mentioned lexapro so maybe she'll just switch me over

You can take Zoloft while pregnant. My doctor took me off of Prozac and put me on Zoloft because it was safe for TTC. You're fine on this particular antidepressant!

You can also talk to a pharmacist for consult - they sometimes know more about the drugs effects than a doctor. My husband has been given so many different meds for depression with horrible side effects that the doctor didn’t even mention!!
Including Zoloft which literally killed our sex life because my husband couldn’t climax or feel anything. Some of the other meds caused auditory hallucinations, worse depression, panic attacks. He’s off all of it now and we are using supplements to help his depression and anxiety. 
He hasn’t had a single episode!
You can also try this method instead to see if it helps. From my research, depressed individuals are low in:
Vitamin D and Bs - especially B12
Omegas 
Magnesium
He also takes a multi vitamin, calcium and turmeric for inflammation. The big difference was the Vit D, B complex and fish oil. Always worth a shot! The key is to get the fish oil with the highest rating for both AHA and DHA.

Definitely call your doctor and tell them you’re actively trying to get pregnant so they can advise you on what to do or not to do.

I’m on lexapro (real name ecitalopram 10mg per day) for claustrophobia. It also is an antidepressant. It’s a class C drug so it is safe during TTC and during the first two trimesters. I was cleared by my primary care and OBGYN to take it. I would just consult with your doctor on. options

You need to bring that up to your doctor. There are a few antidepressants that they have done studies on that have shown to have no affects on newborns after pregnancy one of those being Lexapro.
