Sign of dilation?

Might sound silly but I'm sort of confused is lightning crotch a sign of dilation or at least some sort of progress meaning labors starting?

For some people it is for some it’s not. I can for sure feel when I am dilating but it wasn’t a lighting crotch feeling as I’ve had that as well for me it seriously feels like a scar being torn open 🤷🏼‍♀️

Whenever I have lightning crotch I always know my cervix is thinning and or dilating. And I’ll get checked and I’m right 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had it a lot with my son, it was never a sign of dilation. Seemed to be him just headbutting my cervix. I still had to be induced and was not dilated when we started.
