Induction at 39 weeks vs 41 weeks?

So I’m 32 weeks and a FTM. I talked to my doctor this morning about induction at 39 weeks for severe mental health reasons. The third trimester has brought on severe panic attacks weekly and I can’t even leave my house without my husband. I’m so scared about stillbirth I can’t even function like a normal person. 
He said he was fine with that and understood my fears BUT that unfortunately the hospital wouldn’t let him induce me until 41 weeks. He went ahead and scheduled me for induction at 41 weeks on midnight but I’m just so scared now

I was induced at 39 weeks due to pre-eclampsia. It was a horrible experience in every way. I was in labour for 86 hours and ended up in emergency c-section. Any unnecessary intervention you have increases risks. Avoid it if you can. I would go for the 41 weeks and likely you’ll go into labour before then anyway. It’s totally normal to be scared, most people are.

That’s a pretty standard policy to not induce before due date unless there’s fetal distress or physical issues with you, unfortunately. But baby may come before 41 weeks! I had no sign of labor until the day of, and I had my son at 39w5d

You may go in labor before the induction so I would try to relax about it. Due dates are estimates so baby may be early or late.

With my oldest,  my doctor wouldn't induce until after my due date. She ended up coming on her on between my due date and scheduled induction. With my 2nd, she agreed to induce at 39 weeks so we could plan for my step-daughter who lives several hours away to be there . And I regret it. I dilated quickly and began pushing. But because baby girl wasn't down completely into the birth canal the pushing was causing her stress.  At that point they gave me medicine to stop labor in order to avoid a c section.  I sat another 2 hours on oxygen, vomiting from the  medicine and completely exhausted until she came down on her own and still ended up having to use the vacuum to assist in her delivery.  And I feel it was because she wasn't ready. I'm currently 16+4 and will not be induced this time.  Your body will know when baby is ready. I know it's hard,  but in the end it could be more harmful being induced early.

Our hospital does 39 weeks inductions. I had one at 39 weeks last time due to BP issues.

My hospital won’t induce prior to 41 weeks also. I went into labor on my own with my son at 39w5days.  Everything was fine.  Your doctor will be monitoring you every week in your last 4 weeks. They will make sure everything is okay.

My Dr induces at 39 weeks at the earliest. Hopefully your baby comes all on their own before your induction at 41 weeks.
