I have my very first job interview any advice ?

I’m incredibly nervous, it with an advertisement company and it’s entry level so they will train me  but I’m so nervous I’m thinking about canceling my interview . I really need advice with talking on the phone for 2 mins it’s obvious they are going to ask a lot of questions what if I don’t know what to say?

The phone interview is an initial screen. They will verify you are eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship or visa. They will ask for a brief job history. They will ask why you are interested in the job and company so be prepared to give a thoughtful answer and not something canned or googled. They will verify your salary requirements. Have intelligent questions prepared such as what the team structure is, what are current and upcoming projects, and what makes someone successful in this role. From an HR perspective I will say DO NOT ask what a typical day is like. There’s no such thing. You can leave one day with a plan and to do list for the next day but priorities change and shift and emergencies will happen. Asking that is an indicator that you may not be flexible/you don’t handle change well/or that you can really only follow step 1, step 2, and can’t get to step 3 if 2 doesn’t go exactly how you thought.

That's great news, well done on getting an interview! Normally in job interviews they ask you questions about your previous job but as this is your first they might ask about your education/hobbies/interests.  Try and think of things that show your skills,  such as leadership, organisation, creativity ect.  Most companies want someone with enthusiasm who wants to learn so make sure you have researched the company and know what they do and who their customers are. Take your time to answer questions and smile when you talk as this will make you sound better on the phone. Good luck xx

Don't cancel it! I know interviews are nerve-wracking trust me I get it!! But even if you don't get the position the experience will be worth so much. Google sample interview questions for advertising. It'll give you an idea of what they may ask. The most basic questions to expect will be why you are interested and why you think you'd be a good candidate. Just try to fake some confidence as best as you can :) and since it's entry level like you said, if you get the job you'll learn way more on the go. Good luck!!
