Is this normal?

Has anyone else had this experience? I got the hormonal iud after excision surgery for endometriosis. My doctor was very confident about placement. I bled for the first month after. Spotting or period. 5-6 weeks in now and I’ve stopped bleeding completely! I’ll get the occasional light color discharge, but only a tinge. No more spotting. Has anyone else experienced this with a hormonal iud??? Bleeding for first four weeks then NOTHING?

I’m so glad you asked this! I was about to post my own. I got my IUD December 3, bled for a little more than 3 weeks (after a week it was lighter). Now it would be time to get my period but I’m only having super light spotting. I’m hoping my period is gone for good now! I just thought it would happen after 6 months or so.

That was why I got my iud, no more period. Its totally normal.  But not me, I hated it because I bled for most of the five years. The clinic I got it at moved and then I couldn't find a place to get it removed. But I think I am not the normal experience.

I didn’t experience anything like this.. spotted for 4-5 months after placement and had a vaginal ultrasound and regular ultrasound to make sure placement was good.. wish I was that lucky
