Spotting why ovulating

So i spotted a good amount for 4 days while ovulating. The 5th of January was my highest ovulation day ..so my husband and i of course had sex ..about 6 hours later i wiped an there was allot of discharge and some bright red blood mixed with some brown old blood. Is that a good sign?? I feel like it is I've never spotted like this before while ovulating. An that was my highest day!
