Second time mom here. So I had my doctors appointment today. He said I was 1cm and that her head was really low but he didn’t mention effacement. I asked him to try doing a stretch/sweep which he attempted. This was at 245pm this afternoon. No signs of labor yet but have been a little crampy/achey which I know is normal post cervical check. Also no mucus plug at this point. But I did have a bout of really loose stool this evening. With my first daughter, I had two membrane sweeps that resulted in nothing happening. Similar story where the week or two leading up to due date I was only 1-2cm. Didn’t lose my mucus plug til I was already having contractions and I did have loose stool prior to contractions starting with her. Ended up having her 1 day before due date and only 8 hours of labor (naturally). Just curious if anyone else has had a membrane sweep at this stage and had only been a little dilated but ended up going into labor! Doc doesn’t want me going much past 39 weeks due to baby having a single umbilical artery (she however is perfectly healthy and on track with weight) so if she doesn’t decide to come on her own by the 21st at the latest, it looks like I’ll be having an induction! Have another appointment this Friday at 39w exactly if I haven’t already had her and will do either another sweep or depending on how dilated I am may just do the induction that day. Exciting to know the end is near, but still hoping she will come naturally and on her own terms before then!
