Hunger Games had a stronger film adaption. I wanted to cry over the CRUCIAL details that were changed in the Maze Runner films. But Maze Runner has stronger prose - it was Suzanne Collins first go around for maturer audiences - she had written children's books and children's television, but not young adult fiction, so the writing is weak; she also hasn't written any YA since. Maze Runner was not James Dashner's first YA novel, so he had time to fine tune his craft; he's been flooding the YA market since Maze Runner gained popularity. I'd honestly choose like four other YA Dystopias before either of them, but yeah.
