Iron Infusion

I’m 36+3 and just found out I need an iron infusion on Friday.

I had gastric sleeve in 2016 and have had low levels since then. My levels dropped again while pregnant and unfortunately the nurse said it’s likely I’m just one of those ladies who aren’t absorbing iron at all.

Tbh I feel a little like I’ve failed. And it makes me mildly concerned for birth for blood loss or anaemia since I already have nutritional deficiencies and hypoglycaemia runs from that and being pregnant.

Any ladies here who have had the infusion and what’s it like for birth? Etc. As I understand I’m only a few weeks away so they want me to have some reserves.
