I have orgasmed before, but either in the shower when I use the hard water setting, or I sit on my heel and grind myself into it. It’s totally normal not to want to stick anything up there, I feel the same way and I’m in my 20’s. 
When I was learning, these three things helped the most.
1. Feel relaxed and safe
-make sure that it’s a good time for you to have your own space. Ie everyones asleep, or the doors locked, and a just in case blanket nearby. Then make yourself feel confident and pretty because you are, and you deserve to treat yourself. dimming the lights and listening to music actually works, Along with anything else like feeling clean, or a certain smell, or a super soft blanket.
