ANYONE ELSE HATE THEIR IN LAWS?

My mother hated her mother in laws and TV and movies taught me that I was supposed to hate my mother in law. I disliked her for a while but then I realized she was better to me than my own mother. When I had my first miscarriage my own mother didn’t answer my many calls when I needed her most and practically accused me of having an abortion because she “still thought that I didn’t try hard enough to keep the baby”. My mother in law answered right away like she always did and gave me the comfort I needed at that difficult time. She was a total annoying pain with spoiling my daughter but I could never hate her for spoiling my baby or being overbearing. She passed away in 2016 and I’m still torn up about her leaving us too damn soon. She’s the reason I left my deadend job and went back to school so I could have a future where I could care for my family like she did; always available no matter what.

My in-laws are a second set of parents to me.  My FIL was the person who encouraged me to go back to school for computer science when my own parents told me to suck it up and be happy with the education degree that I realized too late I didn't want. I can talk to my MIL about just about anything. I love my parents and they've been great, but my in-laws are another breed. I didn't realize this was so uncommon.

Aside from feeling like my MIL puts my husband and I on the back burner, we really have no issues. We just haven’t earned a spot on her family picture “shrine” yet since her daughter already gave her a grandkid and we don’t want children for a few years🙄

Wow. Reading the comments makes me realize how blessed I am! Just had lunch w my MIL. They all treat my kids like they’re blood. Love them.

I really wish I had a close relationship with my I laws. My husband has zero contact with his father bc his father is a deadbeat, selfish, sorry excuse of a man. My MIL-I put up with her sometimes. She is also horrible (I won’t go into details). My husband barely puts up with her too. 
My husband and I are both very close to my parents though :)

I don't hate them persay, but I disagree with a lot of their personal choices abd that can make it difficult to like them at times. They're irritating and frustrating, but not worthy of being hated.

Most of my in laws are pretty cool, my MIL and I had a rough patch before we were married now we get along great. But can’t stand my BIL and his wife..which is sad because we use to be really close now all she does is lie and tries to make me look bad, and my BIL has turned into a jerk, and talks down on us and our girls, but they have one boy so they’re all high and mighty 🙄
