Should the US stop outsourcing?

My husband and I watch a lot of shark tank. I’ve noticed that a big topic on the show is outsourcing products to make margins better and make more money. 
I’ve also seen a lot of pride in American made products. People really seem to love the idea of things being made here even if they are more expensive to produce. 
Even if you don’t live in the US, how do you feel about outsourcing? Would you rather buy things produced in your country or does it not matter to you?

I don’t think outsourcing will stop altogether. but I do think some of it should be brought back, to create more jobs and income here.

I don’t pay attention to where stuff is made. It really doesn’t matter to me. I don’t get all happy and full of pride if something is made in America.

I try to buy as much American made products as possible, but I also understand the business aspect of outsourcing. It's just not feasible for every company especially ones that have globally sold products to have everything made in the us.

I like getting variety of stuff from different countries. If we didnt half the stuff we have today we wouldn't have anymore.

If the outsourcing is ethical, I’m fine with it. Having products made in a sweat shop that’s using child labor or makes people work 16 hour shifts with no break? Absolutely not. 
With a global economy, I think outsourcing is just a part of that process. There will always be people willing to pay more for American made, even if the quality is lower. 
One example is Justin boots. Many of my husband’s employees refuse to wear work boots that aren’t American made (usually Justin’s). My husband used to be the same way, but the Justin’s only last 4-6 months of wear, when the Ariats last a year to 18 months. The Ariats are cheaper and much better quality, yet people still refuse to buy anything but Justin’s.

No. I enjoy a global economy and outsourcing jobs creates more jobs overall.  I do not think creating consumers in other countries is a negative thing.  I also don’t think most of the outsourced jobs are necessarily the jobs we want in the US.

Here in Ireland there’s a big thing about buying local. I think because it’s good for the countries own economy. Maybe if countries have deals in place with others it would be a bit more beneficial to outsource

As my dad alway says to our customers that want a cheap price for a product made locally “I asked bob to work for $0.10 an hour an he said no so if you want it at that price call China”

Being born in a place by coincidence/accident shouldn't be defined as pride. Its very definition is by individual achievements. So being simply an American doesn't make you any special. 
Companies should first make production and create jobs in their homeland.

Definitely. 
Most of our products and clothing are made in China. We are giving them too much power and thy dont abide by any intellectual property laws. So if I produce say, a unique helmet and have a company in China make 50,000 units, they will continue producing the helmet and make the profits for their own. Not only that, it is known of the quality of materials that are used. We could all be slowly poisoning ourselves and not know it. Cheap product is a result of cheap materials and slave labor.
A  lot of the film industry outsources to India for production work and there are many skillful artists and companies that are missing out on work. It’s actually a huge problem that isn’t really spoken about.
