Sick with no fever?

Question

Anyone who has had a sick babe... did your little ones get a fever? My LO is coughing and sounds congested but no fever. Not that I want him to have a fever but you'd think that a baby who has never been sick would get a fever from just about any illness. Just my thoughts. Makes me wonder if he is really sick or if this is being caused by his reflux. 😔 some babies are just hard.

Get your baby checked for RSV. It's going around and it's horrible. Mine has it now. Going on a week. No fever. His cough it horrible and needed a nebulizer to help breath on occasion. It get bad quickly.

My child has had a cold for about 3 weeks now. We’ve had 3 doctors visits and two Er visits. She never has ran fever. She never got fussy. She never stopped eating. Besides coughing and congested she has been healthy as a horse. She’s just congested now but I keep taking her to the pedi to make sure it hasn’t turned into anything. They keep testing her to make sure it isn’t anything. It’s just a common cold. Could be what your baby is going through but I’d make a doctors appointment to be sure it isn’t rsv or the flu. Just to rule it out. 😊

My little girl was like this for about 2 weeks. I took her in to be tested for RSV thankfully she was negative but it was rough and so sad. She was really warm so I gave her 2.5 ml of Tylenol. Made sure to run her humidifier, baby vicks rub on her chest and feet and used saline and the bulb suction a lot! She ended up having to get an abuderal inhaler that helped a lot. Hopwfully your little one gets better quickly!

My son got a cold without a fever at 13 weeks. (It lasted about a week.) If you’re breastfeeding, it’s possible that you gave your babe antibodies to help his body fight it? My boyfriend brought a cold home, I got sick, then my babe got sick. It lasted about a week and was strictly congestion and a minor cough. I honestly didn’t even question him not getting a fever, I was just relieved that he didn’t! It really just made me think that it must be a pretty minor cold with those symptoms. I spoke to my son’s pediatrician and they said to look for difficulty breathing (sucking in at the collar bone or under the ribs) and difficulty eating/sleeping. If he doesn’t seem bothered, as mine didn’t, I wouldn’t worry and just keep a close eye (and sit in the steamy bathroom and all that good stuff.) 😍

My son is the same way but has been that way since he was about a month old... I think it’s just being cooped up in the house for the first 12 weeks he hasn’t gotten a lot of fresh air since it’s winter.
