Finger foods and stubborn men

Anyone else have their baby’s father hesitant to start regular foods? My daughter is 8.5 months old and has been eating purées since she was 6 months but is now refusing them for the past week. This isn’t the first time she’s refused them for a few days in a row.

I told my husband that I want to just stop baby food all together because all we’re doing is wasting it because they end up in the trash but he doesn’t want to do that. He thinks we should just give it a couple days and try again because she took them before after doing that. I think at her age, it’s not worth the hassle of trying to give her the baby food anymore.

She will happily eat puffs and soft noodles that she can feed herself, but that’s not enough to convince him to stop baby food.

I’m planning on getting validation from her pediatrician at the end of the month when we go for her 9 month check up, but I can’t just give her puffs and noodles until then. He gets mad when I try to give her anything else and says she can’t have it because she’ll choke.

Anyone have any recommendations on how to go about convincing him it’s ok to do. I’ve already shown him information on BLW and that didn’t help.
