What would your legit essentials be?

Question

If a snow storm/blizzard was going to hit your town and you knew about it a few says before hand, what would your absolute essentials be? 
-its suppose to start on Thursday and get worse through the weekend?
Not being too crazy with things you would "need" for you and your family. (Like you your husband and two kids) or you and your kids.

I've been through so many severe blizzards I'm not even bothered by them anymore so for ME, I'd just grab some food to last the week like normal and call that good 🤷🏼‍♀️
But since you're posting about it, I'm guessing you don't have experience here and are nervous sooo
1. Ample food and snacks and bottled water. Go shopping ASAP before supplies sell out 
2. Battery powered lanterns in case the power goes out 
3. Lots of blankets in case heat goes out
4. Fuel up your car
5. A good first aid kit in case emergency services can't reach you because of roads 
6. Non powered games for kids entertainment (board games, books, ect)
7. Several gallon jugs of water to flush the toilet and wash hands if you don't have power 
-bonus points if you have a gas powered generator. You can turn it on outside and run an extension cord inside and use it to power an electric skillet for food, and a space heater for warmth

We are getting the same storm on those days in Pennsylvania. I went grocery shopping today and planned enough dinners to get us through Sunday. We generally have a pantry and freezer stocked with stuff so I’m not too concerned.

We are pretty much set any time. We have a back up generator and a full propane tank. We keep extra flour, rice, butter, oil, and other dry goods on hand. We have chickens for fresh eggs.
If we are low on a regular grocery item I will have my fiance grab it if I know a storm is coming before we go shopping next.. otherwise we are pretty prepared.

Haha no hate at all but this kinda cracks me up! I totally understand if you don’t get snow a lot though! It’s snowed A TON where I live this year, and I’d say my essentials, which we basically always have anyways, are obviously simple things like blankets and fire wood (we have a fireplace) so when/if we lose power we can still stay warm and heat our house! And for food just stick to things like canned veggies and fruit, cereal, peanut butter and jelly, and bread! Not exciting but you shouldn’t lose power for more than a few days if it’s a decent storm!

Food and snacks, bottled water, plenty of toilet paper. Activities planned for the kiddos if they get restless. If you lose heat a back up plan or lots of warm blankets!
