I am 8 months post partum and have been breast feeding this whole time. When trying out progesterone only birth controls they have lowered my milk supply. My dr thought that weird and allowed me to try a mix birth control that has both progesterone and estrogen. However I forgot to ask if the estrogen will affect my son while breast feeding. I have been on this birth control half a week and have noticed no supply difference yet (where as I did immediately with the mini pill, and some other progesterone only pill and the depo shot). My Dr said I may have a hormonal imbalance as to why my milk supply was affected with just progesterone and not when estrogens is added. Guess I'm just looking for thoughts and comments on this? I know I could go back in to ask but I am so busy all the time as a nursing student that I always forget until after hours so I can't even call to ask
