Get another OB?

Question

How do I know I had a miscarriage and not a SCH? 
My ON won’t confirm by ultrasound and I have to wait until next week for more blood work. So how do they know by assuming? What if it’s not a miscarriage? I think an u/s would put me to ease but they don’t seem to be budging with it and have confirmed the miscarriage by over the phone. I wasn’t even seen...
I would be 6 weeks.

I feel like there’s some context missing here. Did a doctor confirm the pregnancy? Why is there suspicion of a miscarriage and what is SCH? 
Bloodwork is how you’d confirm a MC. Your levels shoudd be doubling just about every day. If they aren’t or going down it indicates a problem. But you generally do the bloodwork every other day. Why did they ask you to wait a week?

They won’t do an ultrasound at 6 weeks because there’s really not much to see, if your dates are even the slightest off that could even make things more complicated.  Bloodwork is reliable... if the pregnancy is viable your hcg will continue to increase regardless of whether you have a hematoma or not. If your bloodwork is decreasing unfortunately that is a very definitive sign the pregnancy isn’t viable. 
I’m assuming the part you left out was at some point you started to have heavy bleeding or bleeding of some sort and your physician sent you for bloodwork vs doing an ultrasound. At that point you were bleeding and your OB said it is probably a miscarriage via the results from the bloodwork but we will have you do bloodwork again to check levels. 
The horrible thing is at this point there is absolutely no intervention. Your Alan is being responsible by having you come back for more bloodwork before ruling it a miscarriage. If the numbers are where they should be, I’m sure they will perform an ultrasound then for confirmation.

So early in pregnancy they don't do any interventions. It's hard, but it's a wait and see situation. Most OB won't even see a patient until they are already 8 weeks. At 6 weeks they won't be able to see the baby yet. It's just too small to see on ultrasound. At an absolute best, they might be able to see an egg sac.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I think it's crazy they didn't see you though! What does sch stand for? What symptoms did you call in for in the first place?
