If the baby is quiet, it’s ok, but chasing or soothing a baby/child during conferences is really distracting.

Why not? Bring some toys and snacks and sit with baby on your lap. If worst comes to worst pull out your boob or bottle and feed them to sleep

Of course, just bring things to keep them distracted/wnteetqined as your attention should be on discussing the child the conference is for.
