Which finger do you wear a promise ring on?

I read online that you’re supoosed to wear it on your left ring finger if youre not married and your right ring finger if you are married, but then I looked somewhere else and it said to save your left ring finger for an engagement ring and to wear it on the right. My boyfriend is giving me one on Valentine’s Day and I wanna make sure I put it on the correct finger so please help😅

I actually wear mine on my left pointer finger because it’s too big for my ring finger & I was too attached to it to exchange it for the right size 😂 but I’d wear it on the right ring finger

Who cares? If I had one, I’d put it on my left because it’d be the ring before the engagement ring, like a placeholder. That’s how o think of it anyway. That’s what my cousin did and I thought it was cute. Now her engagement ring is on her left obviously and she moved the promise ring to the right. Do what you want.
