I need some advice

Kendra

This is kind of a little rant but I also would really appreciate some advice. My boyfriend and I have been dating for 2 years and we have also lived together for 2 years. We did things really quick. We also have a beautiful daughter who is 6 months old and we each have a child from our previous marriage. My lease is up in February but we are going to go month to month for a few months because my boyfriends dad is moving and we will be taking over the house payement.

Backstory: My boyfriend's mom passed away in August 2017. It was unexpected and it happened in the house his dad and brother currently live in. His dad has been having a really hard time with living there and considered selling the house and getting out of it and offered it to us before but we still had a year on the lease at our current house.

That being said, he offered us the house again and said if we didn't want it he was just going to rent it out. We took the offer and in the spring we will be moving in there. My mom is extremely jealous of his dad. His dad had just laid carpet and had the floors in the kitchen done and bought a new stove so when we move in, its basically all brand new. His dad has other rental homes and is selling them to buy property up north (in the state we live in).

Backstory on my mom:

My mom and dad rent, the rent from the same lady I do and helped me get in the house in now. Not financially but in a sense of they knew the owner. As my lease is up we got a great offer (the mortgage is $350 less than what we pay in rent a month). I told my mom about how I talked with our landlord and she told me she was going to be 90 this year and it's becoming too much for her so she's handing the houses over to her son. My mom instantly started saying she's going to be homeless (which I'd never let that happen). She also told me that we have a place to go and she doesn't and in the same breath told me she doesn't understand why my boyfriend's dad is doing all this work to the house if he's just moving. We have children and he wants what's best for his grandchildren.

We also go to dinner every Wednesday and Thursday at my parent's house. She told me that she was going to have to stop that because she needs to cut costs. The whole reason she does it is because my brother has evening visits with his kids on those days and her house is the half way point from his house to their mom's house. So because I said anything she's going to punish them. I feel like whenever I have something good going for me she makes this huge deal about it and makes me feel terrible. She told me she isn't going to compete with my boyfriend's dad because she can't buy us a house or buy us a car or give us cars. I told her "there isn't any type of compition going on. His dad is moving abd offered to let us take over the payements on the house and just put us on the deed and as for the car comment... His mom bought him a car before she died. You as my parents have always helped me. When I went through my divorce, you let me move in. When I got a job working afternoons and midnights you were there to take care of Roxy (my older daughter). When I needed a car, dad went out and got me a car. So don't tell me you can't do any of that for me because you have in the past and I'm finally financially stable enough to not need your help like that. You should be proud you raised a daughter who can take care of herself." My mom didn't like that and hasn't talked to me since. This isn't the first time, one time I went 6 months without speaking to her. She didn't know where I lived or my phone number and my dad wasn't allowed to talk to me. She told me she wished she never had a daughter and I'm the only girl out of her 5 kids.

Am I wrong or how should I approch her? Should I have said anything to her at all? Thank you for reading I know it was a very long post. I appreciate any advice!
