Induced after C section??

I'm 38+6 and hoping for a VBAC. My doin was born via emergency c section due to fetal distress and my heart rate dropping. I had dialated to 9 cm before the surgery. My doctor said the best chance of a VBAC is to go into labor on my own. I've been 2 cm dialated since 36 weeks. Has anyone needed to be induced after previously having a c section and had a successful VBAC?

I’ve always been under the impression that they won’t induce you if you’ve had a csection previously because the induction is harder on your body and you’re more likely to get an uterine tear or something like that. I think as long as you go into labour on your own you’ll be fine, other wise they might have to schedule a csection. I could be wrong but from reading everyone’s stories, that seems to be the general rule of thumb. Best of luck and hopefully you go into labour on your own!

My OBs will not induce for a VBAC.

I was sent over for an induction on 1/11 at 39.3. My little failed his BPP at a our 39 week growth scan. I was only a fingertip and 50%. They started pitocin at just 2mu/hr and never had to increase it. In fact they had to turn it off a few times because I was contracting too much.  After 3 hours they inserted the cooks catheter balloon. They then increase the fluid in the balloon after about 4 hours and it came out after about a total of 8 hours (around 330am). I was complete at 11am. I sat up so he could come down more for about an hour. 
So, the actual induction went well. I dilated slow, but consistently. But I pushed for 3 hours unsuccessfully. Ended up having a repeat section with complications completely unrelated to my attempt to VBAC.  But the induction part was not terrible.

My doctor said its not an "induction" because my body has already started to dialate but I can't remember the word she used. She said we can schedule a repeat c section at 41 weeks, but they'd try inducing (but the other word lol) before that. I'm 2-3cm and 50-70% effaced but my cervix is still posterior

My daughter was a vbac. Water broke st 930am. My body did not go into labor by 3pm. They gave me the choice of csection or vbac with induction  ..but only if I had a epidural.    They started pitocin at 3  was fully dilated by 620. Was just waiting on her to drop further down and my urge to push. Had her at 641pm with two pushes..

I just had my son this past Monday night. I have very similar circumstances to yours. I sat at 1cm 50% effaced for about 3 weeks and was facing potential VBAC induction or scheduling repeat csection. Lucky, I went into labor on my own last Sunday eve, started having contractions around 10:30 at night. Went into the hospital around 5am and was still at 1cm but effaced a tiny bit more to 75%. Ended up with a completely different doctor than I expected to have and luckily she was willing to let me labor for the day since I’d already started on my own. I wasn’t hooked up to anything until the afternoon. That was when they started a very tiny dose of pitocin cause they broke my water in the morning around 10am but everything was still moving kinda slow. Well that tiny dose of pitocin luckily really got things moving. I ended up fully effacing and dilating to 9cm by about 5:30pm, with the doctors and nurses pleasantly surprised and also hopeful that my VBAC would be a success. My doctor was patiently waiting to deliver my boy, she was hoping within the hour. Unfortunately, God had different plans for my sweet boy to come into this world. Everything came to a hault when my son’s heart rate skyrocketed into the 200s and wouldn’t come down. The doctor rushed in and said I would need an emergency csection because they didn’t know what was going on with my son. I was devastated in the moment, but knew ultimately the most important thing was getting him out safe. They got him out in 4 minutes. In the end I delivered a healthy and beautiful baby boy. I didn’t get the dream VBAC success story but know other women, my sister included, that have. However, I feel lucky to have had the chance to try bring him into this world on my own and personally felt like a damn warrior making it as far as I did in labor. Best of luck to you and sending prayers for you to go into labor on your own or for your water to break to let your body start to get things moving on it’s own. Check now with your OB on how they feel about using any augmenting meds during VBAC labor. My OBs would only do a few options with VBAC. The two main things they felt safe doing were breaking bag of waters and very low dose pitocin. They were not willing to use any other augmenting meds otherwise due to risk of rupture. I’m hoping for a vbac too, I have an appointment next week to discuss the risks of being induced or to schedule a c section after a certain amount of time instead, I don’t want to be induced though because I’m already nervous about uterine rupture and that risk increases with induction. So I’m hoping he makes an appearance soon!

Going for a VBAC also and dr said they can only induce me via breaking my water. Cervadil and pitocin can cause uterine rupture. I need to ask her if they can use the foley ball.
