Is it frowned upon for white people to get box braids?

I honestly love them! I really want to get some but don’t want to offend anyone or cause any issues. I just genuinely love the look and style!

Do what makes you feel good. Braids are braids no matter what head it's attached to. As an African American woman I say get braids if you want and tell those who don't like it to worry about themselves!

You will get good and bad reactions. You will be told its cultural appropriation also. But at the end of the day you can do as you please with your hair. I personally wouldnt and dont think its appropriate.

It's your hair and you should wear what you would like to wear. Just be aware that there will be people that won't favor your choice of style. Honestly, I could care less. Braiding hair makes my hair itch. I would definitely advise you rinse your braiding hair (if you chose to wear any) with apple cider vinegar (it won't leave a smell) before having it installed you have have sensitive skin.

I wouldn’t recommend it if your hair is thinner bc it will cause it to break off but go for it ... it’s your hair and braids aren’t just for black ppl
