Is what the nurse told me true?

I got checked at 36 weeks and it hurt sooooo bad. The nurse told me it was because I was still high and closed, but that as I got further along and my cervix came down and softened, it wouldn’t hurt as bad. Have you ladies found this to be true? Will it be less painful in the future?

The thing that’s always hurt my is the doctors knuckles on the outside when she has to go up so high. When my cervix is low it doesn’t hurt much.

So here’s my experience of getting checked. I went to L&D for contractions the doctor there checked me and it didn’t hurt at all. He was in and out. Then they said the nurse has to check as well being a FTM I’m just like okay whatever. Well she checked me and dear lordy! I don’t know what she was doin down there but I’m pretty sure she had her whole inside me. Then a few days later at my 36 week appointment I told my regular OB that I had to go to L&D so she decided to check me and I didn’t even feel it. So I guess it depends? I dunno.

No and you don’t need to be checked in fact it’s completely useless information and an unnecessary painful experience.

Really depends on the person! Also don’t be afraid to voice your opinion. My first pregnancy I felt molested because they nurses would ram their fist up me, and now the nurses where in the labor and delivery are aware and know to be gentle because I refuse to put up with that.

I voted to some extent, but they really shouldn't be pressuring that hard when it's obviously you're still high and completely undilated.

Mine is the same way. I’ve been checked twice with absolute no pain. I think it Depends on who is checking you.

Definitely depends on the person. It has always been uncomfortable for me, but with some people it's pretty painful. I'm not sure why they'd check you so early though. I do not get checked until 38 weeks.

True. If it did hurt you that bad though you can tell them no thanks. They don't HAVE to check you. You literally don't have to be checked again until you think your in labor of ya don't want.
