How long do you wait before going to comfort your little one if they keep waking up

How long do you wait before going to comfort your little one if they keep waking up after you put them down and they have a clean diaper are full and tired? Haven’t done any cry it out method because I can barely make it a minute before I go grab him again 😐.... tonight I waited two minutes and he comforted himself back down, just curious what how long everyone else waits
