Efficient eater!?

Question

Hey. So my little one is 2 weeks old now and nurses for only about 15-20 mins total. Sometimes only on one breast. I know he’s not hungry afterwards, as he’ll go about 3 hours between feeds. He’s also gaining weight and has enough dirty/wet diapers! 
Did anyone else have an efficient eater like this? I’m not worried because he’s still gaining weight and messing in diapers, but I’d like to know if anyone else experienced this.

I did! I was so worried that I went to a lactation consultant. She weighed baby before and after and sure enough, she was getting plenty of oz just in a short time.  The LC also told me I was lucky and not to tell other mommas that, lol!

Yes and no. My son is an efficient eater but he did not go that long between feeds at only 2 weeks. He nursed for short periods of time... but nursed more often. Now at 2 months he nurses for a short time and less frequently. He’s huge for his age and gained a lot of weight since birth. He is coming close to doubling his birth weight already.

How do your boobs feel? Are they feeling empty after he’s done?

Yeah this is the same for us! She’s 3 weeks and gaining well! She’s rarely cluster fed even from day one x

My son was the exact same.  But as he got older like a month or so he would nurse for much longer periods.

Yup! My first was such a blessing to start my breastfeeding journey with because she was born a absolute pro! Even the nurses were shocked because I was a ftm with no struggles, she had a perfect latch and suckle and very strong breastfeeding instincts.
I'm currently EBF my second now, and even though she is doing well she loves to fight the boob, has a bit of a weak suckle, and gets frustrated if she doesn't switch sides often. We struggled a little the first two weeks because I was used to how well my first did!
