How many days after a missed period should you test?

I’m very regular but a day or 2 wouldn’t worry me. Currently at day 13 with several negative test and lots of cramping like my period is going to start 🤷🏽‍♀️. Totally have no idea what’s going on.

It’s normal for my period to be a day or 2 late, so I wouldn’t jump to testing after just being late a day. It wouldn’t be normal for me to be more than 4 days late, so that’s around when I would test.
But that’s just me!
