Ignoring me after a “fight”

What should I do if he’s ignoring me after a fight? I let him know I was sorry and when I tried to talk to him he said that he doesn’t want to talk to anyone at the moment. It’s been a whole day now, should I text him or give him some space to gather himself and wait for him to text me first so I don’t come off as desperate and needy.
