Equestrian period question

Hi so I just got the opportunity to go riding tomorrow. Yet I am on my period, but it is going to be my fifth day. I normally end on the fifth day. I would normally just wear panty liners but I now have to ride a horse so my question is would I be okay to wear just thick liners or should I wear a pad?
