The reason they say 6 weeks is to make sure the wound where the placenta was attached to your uterus heals all the way.  So even if your vagina feels fine, it’s best to wait for the clearance to be sure.

If you don’t wait until after your 6 week check-up, when the doctor clears you, you are at serious risk for infection and complications!
There is a giant open wound inside you! Even if you stop bleeding, it doesn’t mean you’ve healed enough inside for sex.
