When to call?

When did you or when do you plan on calling your insurance and pediatrician of choice to get everything set up? I am 32 weeks. I've read several articles with different advice but I'd also like to hear from other ladies who are getting close too.

My pediatrician is ready for her whenever she's born. I already have a 2.5yo so the baby will see the same pediatrician. 
As far as insurance goes, my husband can't add her till after she's born.

I meet with the pediatrician around 34 weeks and they just said to call when the baby was born. The hospital actually called for me to inform them, so their on call doc could come visit. 
My insurance I have to wait for the baby to be born because I needed the hospital birt certificate and ssn. I had 30 days to add her once she was born.

I called the pediatrician ahead of time while pregnant with my son to make sure there wasn’t a wait list for the doctor I wanted.  They didn’t need anything from me until after birth, but sent me pamphlets about different things I’d asked about.  So to answer your question, I don’t think the insurance or pediatrician do much before hand other than answer your questions since they’ll need a DOB/SSN/Name to get everything set up.

My husband can't add my dd2 until we get her social which is confusing. 
My OB told me to just alert them whenever she's born though!
