Tent camping with new baby?

Hello ladies, have any of you taken your 1-2 month old tent camping in the summer? Pros? Cons? Was it hard? Is it safe? I'm a first time mom and just dont know if it's worth it!

I wouldn’t. I don’t think it would be unsafe, but I think it’ll be far more of a hassle than it’s worth. At 1-2 months you’re just getting into a groove, baby is getting into a groove, not to mention growth spurts that happen during that time. I was visiting my sister and her babe was 6 weeks and had 2 days of wanting to eat every hour. I just don’t think it’ll be enjoyable....but I wouldn’t say, unsafe.

So I haven't done it but I cant imagine trying to camp with a baby that young. My girl is 3 months and i still feel like I'm barely functioning.

I don’t think is a good idea. The baby will be so young. And with the experience I’ve had with the weather during camping I think it will be a good idea if you get a cabin.

I can only think of cons haha but I know people do it. I guess you’re not sleeping anyway so what difference does it make if you’re on the ground and there’s no easy bathroom access? Actually a lot I think 😂

We went camping when DD was 3 weeks old, it was for a wedding otherwise we wouldn’t have. But I’m glad we did. We rented a holiday trailer that had a kitchen, bed, bathroom and A/C! It made it possible, enjoyable even. I think we may try tenting this summer when she’s a year old.

We have a pop up tent camper and we did it with both our kids. Kept baby next to me. Dressed them for the weather. Did it when it was hot and when it got chilly at night. Just be prepared with extra clothes, wipes and diapers. I wore the baby a lot and we have a good rugged stroller.

You’d definitely have to be prepared. A tent would be a lot harder than a cabin but it’s not impossible. Definitely bring a pack n play and lots of layers especially for night. Overall vacationing with a baby that young isn’t hard though we went to the beach when our son was 2 weeks and again at 2 months. Just pack more than you think you’ll need. And have fun!
