Did your breastfed baby have trouble with sippy cups?

My daughter just wants to bang them all on the high chair. The only way she take a sip or two is if I hold the cup. We’ve tried a couple different kinds and she does the same thing. We’ve tried breastmilk and water in them but aren’t giving any juice until after a year. We’ve been trying sippy cups for almost 3 months now and there’s been no improvement. Any tips?

My EBF baby learned straw cups at 6 months. Our fave was the munchkin weighted straw cup.

How old is she? You may want to try a sippy cup with a soft nipple to help her transition.

My daughter can drink from a straw and a 360 cup. Her bib is pretty wet by the time she is done 🤷🏼‍♀️ She is learning and mastering a new skill.

My first was like this. Couldnt figure out sippy cups or straws or the 360 cups no matter what I tried. I had to take the no-spill piece out so she didnt have to suck on them to use them.  She eventually figured it all out, but not after alot of spilled water, lol. My 8-month old in contrast hasnt had the same issue and instinctively sucks on them and can use them all. Maybe because she learned from watching her older sister?

I did a soft sippy cup but to help at the start I put an ice cube in it to get my son’s attention & he used it perfectly fine 
Since he’s started teething he will only use soft ones

My son only liked sippy cups with straws . These were his favorite (BF until he was 19 months )

Following. My son does the same thing. Bang the cup trying to break it more than trying to drink. Or chews on it but can’t figure out to raise his head so he can drink. Tried straws but all is for chewing.

Both of my boys were ebf until 6-7mo and neither of them had issues with the sippy cup. They did take bottles occasionally though so maybe that made a difference? Depending on how old your daughter is I wouldn’t push it too much (until she’s a year or you start weaning).
