Going to college while starting a family??????

Hi! Have you ladies gone to college? Do you have kids? I was just wondering because I would LOVE to have a young family. I’m 18 and about to graduate high school. I have been in a serious relationship for 2 years now. I was interested in going to get my RN, but this schooling usually takes 4 years. Have you ever attended school while having a child? What advice do you have? Right now I’m looking at a CNA license as my first step. I would not want a family until at least after my CNA, but am I too young? What advice would you give me?

I wouldn’t recommend it TBH. I just graduated in May, and I have a two year old. It was hard. Trying to work on my school work with an active child was challenging. School requires and a lot, and so do children. I would wait until you graduate. It’s a lot easier, and you will have more time on your hands without kids.

I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant and in my second semester of college. I had to switch all of my classes online since I’m due in April. It’s definitely hard but not impossible. I do wish I would have waited because it’s a lot of stress but I’m doing pretty good as of right now!

I’ve known 3 people who have all started families while in college. It was definitely hard for them, but they managed. It’s important to have financial stability and a network of people to help.
