What do you do to cycle in frozen milk?
So, before I went back to work, I did my best to build a freezer stash of pumped milk, expecting potentially to have supply issues and needing to use it..
I have been back at work now for a few weeks, and I seem to be able to keep up with my son’s daily needs, plus a little extra that gets frozen if he doesn’t take it. (Yay!!)
The oldest frozen milk I have is from November, so soon I will be at that three month mark... some charts I see say you can freeze 3 months, and some say 6... anyway... the milk is stored in a stand up freezer.
I am thinking if I don’t want to waste it I should start to rotate it into my son’s daily bottles, right? What do you all do? Should I just thaw and serve a ‘from frozen’ bottle here and there and freeze an equal amount from what I pumped fresh? I know there could be times in the future when I need to be away or my supply drops and I should keep a frozen milk supply to fall back on.
