NIPT=boy, ANATOMY SCAN = girl????😨

Question

Anybody have NIPT screening not match baby sex on ultrasound?? We had NIPT done at 10w2d which came back boy, but during today’s anatomy scan at 20w5d doc did not see a penis 🤔 (although they would not say definitively girl parts bc of our genetic test saying it should be boy🤷🏼‍♀️). Anyone had this happen? How did it turn out??

It is pretty much impossible that they would find Y chromosomes in the NIPT unless your baby is a boy. You are a woman. You only have X chromosomes. The Y could only come from your baby. It is much more likely his penis was just not visible on the scan because of how he was positioned. I’d ask for a new scan to confirm. At least it is a good excuse to see baby again!

Hmm.. do they plan on rechecking anytime soon? I had the Maternit21 test and it came back girl and i keep wondering in the back of my head if it will still be girl at anatomy scan... 😅. Probably, but can't help to wonder. Did they say which was probably more accurate?

We have this happening also. Nipt boy and ultrasounds are all “girl”. I am due any day now, and we still have no idea what’s going on. We opted out of an Amnio bc of a late pregnancy loss last January and we couldn’t get ourselves to agree to the test. So we just got checked every 3 weeks and kept an eye on everything. We found a specialist who sees male genitalia, but no one else sees it. It’s so frustrating. But we’ve accepted whatever is to come and are now just patient waiting babies arrival. I’m currently going through this at the moment . I do the NIPT test around 11-12 weeks and it came back positive for a boy went for my 20 week scan and the lady said she thought it might be girl as she could see anything and saw girl parts . But they are retesting and I just have to wait .
I’m so blessed either way just frustrating coz I had everything planned for a boy name , clothes etc
