Baby is here!!! Birth story!

Delivered on Jan 16, 2019!!! 5 days late, had to be induced.

Went in at 10am, pitocin started at 11. My water broke on it’s own around 1:30. Then that’s when the contractions started, and omg were they strong. I was 6cm when I asked for the epidural. They came in right away and did it (super duper easy), and then within 10 minutes my blood pressure dropped so much that they had to stop the epidural, put me on oxygen, and give me fluids to help bring my pressure up. Once it got back up, they decided to restart the epidural. Except IT DIDNT WORK. For some reason it wasn’t working, and I got to 10cm dilated with absolutely nothing. It was SO PAINFUL. The doctor finally said it’s time to push, and I said “not until you fix this epidural!” I’m not even sure what they did, but it started working, so I started to push. I could still feel a lot. My legs weren’t numb at all and I was able to push in so many different positions including hands and knees. I had pushed for a while and was getting exhausted, and his head wasn’t fitting. Unfortunately I started tearing inside, so to prevent more tearing, my midwife did an episiotomy. After 1 hour and 6 minutes of pushing, little man was born at 7:36pm at 8 lbs, 20.5 inches. Not a long labor for an induction, but I think not having the epidural sped it up, though I will never do it without an epidural again. But it was all worth it for this face!
