I am 14 years old and I’m proud to say that I am going natural. I’ve never had my hair relaxed, but I did have have a lot of heat damage from flat irons and the strain of braids. I’ve been wanting to do this for a a while no but I guess I’ve never found a right time to do it. This weekend when I was washing my hair, I looked at in the mirror and I was looking at the damaged pieces and I saw a pair of scissors and just went to work.

Today was the first day that I ever wore my natural hair to school. At first I was a little scared because it was so short , but in my first class a girl that I don’t really talk to said that it was pretty. I didn’t realize til later how much it impacted my day. It felt like all my worries went away when she said that.

I know this is going to be the hardest thing that I will ever do but I am not going to give up. YouTube is going to be my very best friend at this point because I am so new to all this. I’m going start my journey to waist length.
