Easy DIY facials with extra baby food
Want some easy recipes for glowing skin that you can make at home with just a few things from the grocery store and some of the baby food you have on hand? Or if you don't have them on hand, they are cheap!
You're in luck.
Recipe 1-
Pumpkin Mask
Why it is great: pumpkin is full of great nutrients for your face and also contains enzymes that not only help combat acne and hyperpigmentation, they also gently dissolve away dead skin cells.
1-2 TBS Pumpkin baby food (You can also use apple pumpkin baby food if that's all you can find).
1-2 tsp Cream (or vegan equivalent)
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp ginger.
Mix until creamy.
Use like a face mask, after washing pat dry face, apply, leave on 10-20 mins. Rinse.
Rather have a pumpkin scrub?
Use the same pumpkin and cinnamon/ginger, omitt the cream, and add 2-3 TBS sugar. If you really want to bump it up add 1 tsp of unseasoned meat tenderizer. Be gentle when using, don't apply pressure, just let the grit and the enzymes do all the work as you glide your fingers across your skin.
Banana cream mask:
Helps hydrate and nourish sensitive or dry skin. Can also be calming on slightly irritated skin.
1 TBS Banana baby food
1 tsp cream or vegan alternative
1 TBS rice or oatmeal cereal for babies (mixed with a little hot water to make paste)
Mix together into creamy goop. Use after washing like mask.
Can also add 2 TBS sugar and a tsp unseasoned meat tenderizer if you want to make a scrub.
You can actually try these recipes with lots of different flavors-
Carrot
Anything that has pineapple or papaya in it
Mango
Go nuts.
And an easy toner for your face is just a little green tea and witch hazel. You can mix 50/50 of the 2 (or do less witch hazel if you have sensitive skin) and store it in the fridge for 48-72 hours.
