Ok to take????

Hi I am 14w6d and have been feeling awful, they recommended me this med, has anyone else taken this while preg. 😏 is it safe for me to take will it harm my baby ☹️😭

I wouldn’t do it. Tamiflu doesn’t treat flu symptoms , it only tries to shorten them. I know you feel like crap , but I personally wouldn’t risk it 😔 I’m sorry. But definitely talk to your pharmacist or OB!

You should always consult your OB when you’re prescribed medication from another doctor. I’m currently taking amoxicillin for a ruptured eardrum and the doctor who prescribed them told me to talk to my OB before starting treatment.

I took Tamiflu for 2.5 days, Just 5 pills starting within 24 hours of my symptoms and I am such an anti-pharmaceutical girl, I hate even taking Tylenol. My reason for only taking 5 pills was bc like you I was nervous and I had also read a bunch of stuff that said DONT take it, BUT I felt like absolute crap and I knew that the risk of the flu harming my baby was higher than the risk of the pills harming her. Also, prolonged exposure to flu symptoms and fever dramatically increase chances of miscarriage. Are you experiencing high fevers that Tylenol cant control/lower? For me, I actually did start feeling better and when that happened I immediately stopped taking it, plus it gave me TERRRIBLE pounding/throbbing headaches, and headache was not one of the symptoms I was experiencing before starting Tamiflu. Like I said, I hate taking any pills even not pregnant, but I knew that flu during pregnancy is very harmful itself, plus I was unvaccinated.

No I wouldn't even take Tamiflu not pregnant. I've just heard of a lot of horror stories with it..especially with children..so I would never take it pregnant. Like others said, it's literally just used to shave like a day or two off of being sick.

I had the flu and was prescribed Tamiflu and it doesn’t stop your symptoms just lessens the amount of time you will be sick. I suggest talking to your doctor if it’s just allergies my doctor told me Claritin and Flonase are safe but not sure if you can just get them from the store
