Why are lgbt youth considered confused if we arent straight?

So earlier today I had a discussion with one of my family members. We talked about my schools GSA and how people who are Pansexual, non binary and etc feel like it does t include them even tho it’s supposed to be for everyone in the community or ally’s.

So me and her were talking and I told her most of my friends are bisexual and I have a friend who’s Pansexual. She told me they are just confused. I told her “you guys always say that to people who arent straight. Why is it that they’re confused because they aren’t straight. Why do they have to like one specific gender?” And she kinda shut up after that. But it just really hit me personally cause I’m pansexual and I wanted to see what she thought and now I know and I’m even more scared to come out.
