So I finally talked my SO into us getting a cat. Didn't want a kitten because they're a little too much to handle with me having a 14 month old, so we found a little 4 year old snowshoe. Well she is a shy one, and I mean really really shy. Like in the shelter she was in the corner of her cage just watching everyone, but was very open to being pet and handled. She wouldn't come out of her box when we brought her home. I figured that the whole house may be a little much so I let her loose in our large second bathroom with all of her things, I've also kept my baby away from that end of the house to keep the noise down. She's still open to getting love, but she refuses to get out of her box still. Do I just let her do her own thing or what else should I do? I really don't mind her being a reserved cat, I just feel like she's really having a tough time acclimating 😥
