Metformin, What to expect? ADVICE PLEASE.

Question

I finally went to the Drs today after having 7 periods this year and not ovulating. 
She was so sympathetic and prescribed me Metformin (1 pill in the morning for 1 week then 2 a day for a week then 3 a day )
Shes got me ready for blood tests.
Amd ultrasounds..
But what should I expect with This medications?
What should I avoid eating/doing ?

Diarrhea and nausea.... i learned at higher dosages that eating sugar, carbs, fried, and fatty foods would set it off...and i absolutely love chinese but thats a no-no for me on this medication... also you need to drink a ton of water...in not big on plain water so i buy sugarfree drink mix to put in mine

It made me sick for the first day and then i was good but i didn’t eat when I took it

You’re starting on such a low dose this might not affect you, but it always gives me diarrhea when I start taking it (I stopped for a month a while ago), so stay near a bathroom if you get that. Haha
Otherwise there’s not much too it i think.

Have you already been diagnosed with PCOS? I have an appointment for a scan next week but they won’t give me anything until Iv had the scan. I’m currently on cycle day 93 and been tracking ovulation since October and haven’t ovulated 😩
