He Made it Here Earlier Than Expected !!

Ciara

My son Thomas James was born yesterday January 22nd, but was due March 17. He started breathing fine on his own until later he was intubated. His fluid levels were low as well. He is doing well otherwise for a 32 weeeker and funny enough I also turned 32!

Their story is :

My birthday was Jan. 20, I went away about 2hr away maternity spa and comedy show. During the weekend I felt strong back pains and contractions. I ignored it because I been having them for a few weeks and was brushed off by the hospital. So later that weekend I noticed I had increased discharge and diarrhea and I was thinking .... hm. Maybe I should go to the hospital. My doctor called me the next day I was going home and reminded me I had an OB appt later that day. I told them I may not go to them but straight to the hospital. They didn’t take it that serious and said if you think you need to go and it’s bad then go to the hospital where you are. I declined and said , no I’ll wait until I’m home Incase something happen.

When I got home I picked up my kids and spoke to my sister to babysit. She didn’t think I should go but just wait. It was 12am and she said you should rest. I told her I will at the hospital. So I got to the hospital and they find a lot of contractions and saw on the scan that my uterine wall was weak. As a side note: I have three other boys at home all born from csection with complications such as placenta abruption and pre eclampsia .

So they start to monitor me more and kept me in the hospital that night. The next morning my PNI and OB doc came in and said it’s happening today.

Oh gosh!! I was so unprepared I was only 32 weeks. I had no bag ! Nothing ! And honestly it was my last day of work and I wanted to finish it. Ugh

The good news is we’re both safe! If my uterine wall ruptured we could be in aloe of danger. Below is my little guy Thomas James. I hope he will be able to breath on his own soon.

Anyone have the same issue ?
