Mono?

Has anyone had it before?
What were your symptoms before heading to see a doctor?

I got Epstein-Barr when I was about 15. It’s a herpes virus that causes mono, but instead of it just lasting a couple weeks, it lasted months. I had a horrible sore throat, so at first we thought it was strep, then I got tested for thyroid issues and even leukemia. And my lymph nodes were very swollen. I was always tired and super weak. Like one minute I’d be fine and then the next, I couldn’t get out of the car or up from my desk at school.

I had a horrible sore throat, like it felt impossible to swallow with white dots lining my throat. Mine was located in my liver, not my kidney so I wasn’t tired but that’s usually a telling sign

Everyone is different I didn’t even know I had it. Stupid Tiffany and all the cheerleaders sharing the same bottle of water gave it to us. She was in the hospital 3 months with swollen spleen etc I didn’t even know I had it until I went for ame testing and they said well you still have traces of mono, I said I didn’t even know I had it. Although the mono activated things that I was a carrier for and were dormant. Thalassemia it’s a blood disorder. When in doubt, go get checked out is what I always say. Be safe and feel better.

SO said I looked like quagmire from family guy when I had. I was SOO swollen. My advice is get a shit ton of emergency packets and try and sleep as much as you can cause that shit is awful. :(

I had mono when I was 18. I just had a REALLY adore throat and honestly don’t know how I got it!! Everyone says it’s the kissing disease but I wasn’t kissing anyone!🤷🏻‍♀️ I went to the dr and they just gave me antibiotics. Apparently you’re supposed to be really tired but I felt fine and went to work and everything. Feel better❤️
