How much do you make a month?
And how much do you pay for your mortgage, plus all other bills combined?
What is your total of monthly costs compared to your monthly income?
Just wondering how much I can afford.

I'm not going to go into details about how much our bills are, but our income is MUCH greater than our bills.🤷🏾‍♀️ I own an Education Consulting Business and work with different brands as an influencer.  My husband is a college football coach, owns a gym, and works with several brands. We both make six figures. We own our home so we just pay utilities, car insurance, home insurance, life insurance, grocery, and other monthly bills. We also include miscellaneous expenses such as my hair appointments, nail shop trips, massages, husband's haircuts, etc. Of course we shop every month for our daughter, ourselves, our parents. We also take vacations VERY often so we include that as well. Thankfully, we do not have any debt.🙌🏾 Thank God for scholarships and our parents setting up college funds for us, we were able to graduate from undergrad and grad school with no student loans. Thank God my parents and my in-laws did not want their children to live in debt. We plan to help our daughter live the same lifestyle. We have three vehicles, all of which are paid for in full. Our health insurance is through my husband's employer. We also deposit money into our savings accounts, emergency fund, retirement accounts our daughter's savings, and our daughter's college fund. Even after all of that, we still have lots of money left over for the month.👌🏾 We also have lots of money in the bank! We have both separate and joint accounts. Our philosophy for limiting bills are that we try not to finance anything. We buy it cash! People thought we were crazy for putting six figures down on a house and then later paying it off in a few months. People also thought we were crazy for purchasing luxury vehicles cash, but we HATE bills lol. If we can, we are paying for it cash. I get that ethic from my parents. I cannot think of anytime my parents actually owed people, they always tried to purchase things cash instead of setting up bills. Of course everyone cannot afford this, but it helps if you can. There are apps and journals to help you budget if you need assistance with it. Idk the name of any right off hand, but search the Apple store.👌🏾

Not everyone has a mortgage. Some own their own home like I do. I make over 6 figures a year, and my monthly expenses don’t exceed 1,500, so after all the bills are paid and groceries are bought, that money goes into savings. I also don’t have a car payment because I own my own car and so does my husband. My husband makes 85,000 a year so he pays half of the bills and the rest goes into savings. 
Everyone has different expenses and not everyone has the capabilities of completely being able to cover those expenses. Location plays a key role in income and expenditure. 
My husband and I both work so we don’t struggle by any means in paying our bills but we also don’t live directly in a city either where everything is higher.

Well your mortgage or rent shouldn’t be more than 1/3 of your income so you can afford everything else. Make a budget of your expenses and income, subtract one from the other and see what you can actually afford.
