Too Old?

Question

Is 40 too old to become pregnant?  I want another baby with my new husband. (Our first together). As much as I want it, I don’t want my kid growing up with old parents.  I’m torn..

I am 41  this is my 5th pregnancy and if all works out, I will have my 4th baby a couple months after turning 42. My husband just turned 48. Its just a number in my opinion!!! Good luck with whatever you choose!!

My mom had me when she was 40  and my dad was 43 , I am now 25 and can say I had the best childhood . I don’t feel like I “missed out” on anything , they still had energy to take me to the park , vacations , activities ,etc . Even now at 65 ,my mom and I often still go on shopping trips , breakfast dates & more . It all depends on you and your partner , if you are healthy , feel like you guys have the energy for another 18 ish years and your doctor says go for it then do it ! You will have a little companion once all the other kiddos move out which is a plus . Side note , my siblings are all 18+ years older then me so they were always watching me while my parents worked  & now their kids (my nieces and nephews) are more like my little siblings and I’m always with them while my siblings  work , payback 😂

My mom had my brother at 47 with her new husband.. He's almost 6 now and my mom is so happy 💕

My grandma was 46 when she had my youngest aunt. A surprise she says but she just followed drs instructions and had a very healthy 6th girl

Age is a number. It’s all about how you feel mentally and physically. My husband and have have been together for 14 yrs and just recently became parents. I’m 32 and he’s 40 and I feel like the older you are, the wiser you become and You learn to handle things better

My moms friend is in her 50s and just had a baby a couple years ago! And it was her first. Talk to your doctor about it.

You're dr. Would be best to answer this from a health perspective.   You're at increased odds of a high risknoregnancy, complications, and birth defects/learning disabilities.   That all being said my mom had twins at 38 they are happy and healthy.  She did kinda quit being a parent when they were around 9 though so I finished the job.  Successful young women now.
