Yeast Infection

So I just got a yeast infection and my gynecologist prescribed me a cream for three days. That seems kinda short to get rid of it and I'm worried it won't go away by then. She has no other availabilities this week if it does. And next week I leave for a semester abroad! I really don't wanna be dealing with getting another prescription my first week getting used to abroad.

Anyone who's had a yeast infection, did it really go away that quick?

And do you have any recommendations for getting it to go away, like other than the cream, things to aid it?
