Birth control pills

What is everyone on? I go in for my 6 week appt in one week and I’m curious what pills everyone is taking. I’m not familiar with mini pills.

I had the mini pill after my first and I’m on the mini pill again. I breastfed my first for 15 months and I’m exclusively breastfeeding my newborn this time around. The first time I was in Nora-Be. This time I’m on Jolivette (basically the same thing). To make sure I take it at the same time daily, I set two alarms on my phone, 30 minutes apart. Sometimes I’m in the middle of something when the first alarm goes off (and it’s easy to forget once you turn the alarm off) so having a second alarm definitely helps. I wanted kids about 2 years apart so the pain of insertion/removal of the IUD wasn’t worth it for me (to have it for such a short period of time). I had the IUD prior to having kids (loved it) but would only get it again if I didn’t want to be pregnant for 4+ years. The IUD is a good option too if you don’t mind the insertion and removal.

No, I didn’t have any side effects the first time around and I just started it again (my newborn is 3 weeks old) and nothing so far 😊

Thank you!! The two alarms is a great idea! Any side effects from the pills?

You have to be careful with the mini pill because you have to take it at exactly the same time every day. There are a lot of women who have gotten pregnant because of missing their time by an hour or 2.

You can get the non hormonal one as well if you’re worried about the hormones.

Not a bad idea!! Lol I had the IUD many years before I was pregnant and it gave me cystic acne it just messed with my hormones too bad, the pill just works best for me, so you are lucky! Lol
